Students in high school today are learning subjects based off of a curriculum that was created a decade ago by politicians, parents, and teachers who wanted to better prepare their kids for the real world. However, learning how to figure out the square root of an equation or who the 17th president was isn't exactly going to make students independent and vital contributors to society. This part would include a guest speaker from a bank who could elaborate on all of the above topics.
The second part of this course would discuss finding a job and an apartment for the first time. The apartment segment would elaborate on things like needing good credit, looking for an apartment that is within your monthly budget and about the importance of renters insurance. The job segment of this part would elaborate on things such as how to impress at an interview, how to keep your job and also how to handle being fired or let go, especially in this economy.
